Director of Quality & Process Improvement

Global chemical leader seeks a Director of Quality & Process Improvement to lead company-wide process improvement teams in North and South America.  This position has 75% travel and will be based in the Richmond VA area.

The Director of Quality & Process Improvment will:
  • Develop and drive targeted CI and Quality policy deployment and manage daily sustainable improvement in quality, cost and innovation.  
  • Act as a change agent in developing and implementing key process changes and improvement in quality, supply chain and manufacturing operations.
  • Establish quality standards across internal company and external supply operations.
  • Manage monthly tracking and countermeasure development for all Continuous Improvement operations and Quality Systems and deliverables
  • Develop and manage structured Kaizen program, company-wide
  • Develop and manage quality and continuous improvement training program
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, business or related discipline;  Advanced degree preferred
  • Documented excellence and track record in driving a strong continuous improvement program across a range of functional areas which should include operations and quality
  • 5+ years experience with Lean - Toyota Production Systems
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Lean principles in a variety of situations with quantifiable results
  • A track record of accomplishment in manufacturing management leadership
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with extensive customer experience
  • Proven change management skills
  • Turn-around or experience with merger integration preferred
  • Ability to effectively work and influence all levels of the organization
  • Strong coaching, group facilitation, training and mentoring skills
